500 – Santa Cruz de La Palma – Los Cancajos – Airport
So the easy way to get to the Airport (located in Villa de Mazo municipality to be precisely) with public transport is take the 500 bus from Santa Cruz de la Palma, the capital. There are no other direct connection to the Airport with bus.
It’s a 30 real minutes trip and the bus is every 30/60 minutes, so it’s quite convenient.
It’s a circular line that means start from Santa Cruz de La Palma go to Los Cancajos, recollect the passengers from the Airport and then go Back to Santa Cruz de La Palma
The international airport code of the Airport is IATA: SPC, ICAO: GCLA
Overview
So first thing to notice is that the map is quite confusing and timetable as well…
That’s said, I’m going to share my personal experience about it.
To the Airport (from Santa Cruz de la Palma)
Bus Stops
The main issue is that the Terminal of this line in Santa Cruz de La Palma is not located in the Main Bus station near the port.
That basically means that if you are waiting the bus in the Main Bus Station, close to the port, you have to wait 10 to 15 minutes more then the timetable. Arrival time is +30 from the Terminal Station.
Map
Official stops are bad drown, the map has three points named A) B) and C) but the time table has just two…and wrong…
So in the map B) is Los Cancajos (turistic area) and Santa Cruz de la Palma is named C).
While in the time tables Santa Cruz de la Palma is named B) while the airport is named A)
From Santa Cruz de La Palma
First ride is at 6:30am from Monday to Saturday and 7:00am Sunday and on holidays at local time (gmt+0) from Santa Cruz de la Palma to the Airport. Last ride is always at 22:15 in both case.
Please note that the ride from the capital does not start from the main station close to the port, but before, so be shure to choose the right starting bus stop.
So if you want to go to the Airport from Santa Cruz de la Palma my suggestion is to go the Terminal Station close to the port, close to the traffic light, look for the 500 bus stop sign and wait for the bus adding 10/15 minutes to the timetable, hop-in, pay the ticket and wait 30 more minutes to get to the Aiport
This my experimental timetable from the Bus Line Terminal in Santa Cruz de La Palma to the Airport
- +5/10 Avenida Marítima (close to Cabildo)
- +10/15 Terminal bus
- +15/20 Los Cancajos
- +26/30 Airport

From the Airport to Santa Cruz de La Palma
It is basicically the same route but
- the bus will pass not throught Los Cancajos, so if you want to go to Los Cancajos with bus you have to have a different strategy
Ride price
Ticket is 2,60€. There’s no round-trip ticket.
